Va. district lets students' tastes drive menu

School nutrition professionals in a Virginia district recently worked with local chefs to help develop menu items for a school lunch challenge. A group of students recently served as taste-testers for the dishes, which may be adjusted to meet federal nutrition specifications before joining the school menu. Among the dishes prepared was Jamaican jerk chicken over brown rice with black beans, peppers and corn.
