Report: Most California seniors pass exit exam

Nearly 89% of California seniors, or 430,894 students, passed both sections of the new exit exam as of November, reports the Human Resources Research Organization. State schools chief Jack O'Connell is optimistic the numbers will continue to improve, but noted that more needs to be done to boost passing rates of English-learners, Hispanics, blacks and poor students.
