The timing last week of Crispin Porter + Bogusky's resignation from the Miller account may have taken the brewing company's CMO, Randy Ransom, by surprise, but the relationship already was threatened by poor sales of Miller Lite, despite the much buzzed-about "Man Laws" campaign, and the agency's frustration with the client's bureaucratic management structure, sources said. Miller Lite, whose Hispanic shop, Creative on Demand, also quit in March, reportedly would have put the $100 million-plus business in review within a month, anyway.
