Wall Street banks behind housing boom, bust

When the economy was in good shape, Wall Street firms lent money to subprime-mortgage lenders at low interest rates, thus fueling the housing boom. Now, those same firms are seeing the default rates increase and are refusing credit to the subprime lenders, which are in turn filing for bankruptcy.
