Woman's story shows importance of getting colon cancer signs checked

Julie Wheelan of Mill Valley, Calif., got colorectal cancer at age 38, while she was pregnant. She says she initially attributed the symptoms to pregnancy-induced constipation and hemorrhoids, but couldn't shake the feeling something wasn't right. She eventually had a colonoscopy, which found a cancerous tumor that was removed during a subsequent surgery.
