Regulator aims to cut pollution from large ships

The International Maritime Organization is planning to reduce pollution from large vessels, including cruise ships, that visit North American ports. The regulator aims to reduce particulate emissions by 85%, nitrogen oxide emissions by 80% and sulfur content in fuel by 98%. The overall goal is to reach these targets by the time tougher standards are implemented during the next five years.
