Texas colleges increase study of environmental issues

Texas universities are adding green technology to curricula, and community colleges are adding training programs to prepare the workforce to install solar panels and wind turbines. Some of the offerings: the University of Houston offers a class on carbon trading, Rice University students can minor in energy and water sustainability; and sustainable design is included in architectural studies at the University of Texas in Austin.
