Food makers promote benefits of smaller packages

To keep retail prices stable, food makers are reducing the amount sold per package, sometimes touting the smaller package as better for the environment or having other advantages. Kraft Foods, for example, said its Fresh Stacks package, which contains fewer crackers, is more portable and keeps food fresher.
