Group-messaging service GroupMe generated plenty of buzz at South By Southwest Interactive, and now it's moving to get brands on board. The service has unveiled a Featured Groups tool that allows companies to create conversations around their brands or branded events. GroupMe users can opt in to these groups to receive information or promotional messages, and to discuss the brand. "This trick, of course, will be that these branded groups not inundate users with unwanted messages," Audrey Watters writes.
