Governor encourages schools to serve controversial beef product

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad is encouraging schools to continue serving lean finely textured beef to students, saying the Iowa-based company that makes the product has been unfairly targeted. Branstad plans to send letters to schools asking them to buy the product, following a decision by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to give districts additional choices when purchasing beef.
