IOM recommends greater primary care, public health collaboration

An Institute of Medicine report offered five recommendations that could boost the integration of primary care and public health, particularly in maternal and child health, colorectal cancer screening, and prevention of cardiovascular disease. Accountable care organizations and medical homes present integration opportunities, authors said.
