Planned $2B I-11 could strengthen link between Phoenix, Las Vegas

The linking of Las Vegas to Phoenix via a new Interstate 11 is in the idea stage. The highway would cost about $2 billion and could also help Las Vegas become an inland port to handle some freight from overcrowded California ports. Nevada and California are spending $2.5 million to conduct an environmental impact assessment.
