Study: Overall eating pattern factors into diet-soda risks

Research suggests that diet-drink consumption might be tied to diabetes and heart disease risks, but a study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that overall diet might be the key factor. Researchers said people who ate a healthy diet and did not consume diet drinks had the lowest risk of developing metabolic syndrome, but those who had a healthy diet and drank diet soda had only a slightly higher risk.
