Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., is demanding an explanation from the Federal Aviation Administration about why the tower at W.K. Kellogg Airport in Battle Creek, Mich., is on the list to be closed. It is the third-busiest GA airport in the state and home to the Battle Creek Air National Guard's 110th Airlift Wing and Western Michigan University's College of Aviation. "I am deeply disappointed by this decision and equally concerned by the adverse impact it will have on both regional and national interests," wrote Upton in his letter to the FAA.
