MIT students take class focused on medical device design

The two-semester Precision Machine/Medical Device Design course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is designed to help seniors and graduate students innovate. The group chooses a device, then brainstorms and decides on project strategies. From there, they work on "detailed specification, followed by actual design and testing." So far, their designs have included a thoracoscopic screw driver and a sleep-sensing shirt.
