Pacific Ethanol turns to grain sorghum amid high corn prices

Pacific Ethanol confirmed that it is buying grain sorghum from overseas and domestic sources in a bid to supplement its supplies of corn, whose prices are hovering near record highs. "Both as a step toward qualifying for advanced biofuel and to take advantage of favorable pricing, we purchased sorghum as feedstock for producing ethanol from local, Midwest and international markets," said President and CEO Neil Koehler.
