What future does CBS have in mind for TVGN acquisition?

CBS paid relatively little -- $100 million -- for its 50% stake in TVGN, but it must figure out how to monetize the struggling channel. TVGN is said to receive as little as 2 cents per subscriber per month, while other general-entertainment channels yield 20 cents to 50 cents per subscriber per month -- or more. It remains to be seen whether CBS and partner Lionsgate will re-embrace the channel's original TV Guide name and whether the programming will be derived from CBS' library or will consist of original content.
