Bloggers numerous, but not diverse

Attendees of a recent blogger conference at Harvard University noted that there is a lack of diversity among bloggers, who tend to be white males. In that respect, blogging does not differ substantially from the mainstream media. In an effort to promote diversity, projects like Global Voices are trying to bring recognition to bloggers who are not male, white or English-speaking.
