Monsanto, Brazilian farmers sign Roundup Ready agreement

Monsanto says it has signed agreements with the soybean industry in a key state of Brazil, giving the company a 1% royalty on sales of the crop now and 2% next year. Rio Grande do Sul is the third-largest Brazilian grower of soybeans, and the agreement with Monsanto is for its Roundup Ready technology, which had been illegal in the country until last week.
