Undisclosed backer proposes new Kansas City stadium

Public officials in Kansas City are pushing a plan for a redevelopment of the Bannister Mall area of the city to include a new home for the Wizards professional soccer team, but they're not divulging who is backing the plan. The concept would involve razing the existing Bannister Mall and adjacent Benjamin Plaza and replacing them with retail space, a hotel and conference space and a 22,000-seat stadium.
