15,000 jobs added to construction rolls in March

The Labor Department said this morning that the U.S. workforce grew by 162,000 jobs in March, including 15,000 in the construction industry. This increase is the biggest jobs gain in three years. However, the news was tempered by the fact 48,000 of the new jobs were temporary positions for the Census Bureau and that the overall unemployment rate remained stagnant at 9.7%.
