Asian markets mostly gain after Wall Street's rise

Share markets across the Asian-Pacific region mostly were higher Tuesday as investor sentiment continued to improve. Japan's Nikkei 225 added 1%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.4% and South Korea's Kospi Composite rose 0.5%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.7%, while China's Shanghai Composite and Singapore's Straits Times Index went up 0.2%. New Zealand's NZX 50 closed nearly flat, shares in the Philippines gained 0.8% and India's Sensex dropped 0.8% in late trading.
