Collins discusses advances in genome sequencing

Although there have been some improvements in genetic sequencing, comprehensive research efforts on genomics are only just beginning, said Dr. Francis Collins, director of the NIH and former director of the National Human Genome Research Institute. One of the extensive genome projects is the UK Biobank, which intends to sequence the DNA of about 500,000 people as well as monitor their health.
