Contractors attend briefing on New Orleans pump project

Dozens of contractors showed up for an Army Corps of Engineers briefing on a planned $800 million contract to rebuild pumps at three canals in New Orleans. The design-build project is part of a $14.3 billion program to buttress the city's hurricane protections. An initial request for proposals to handle the business is set for release next month.
