"FarmVille" leads way for major growth in social gaming

The breakout success of Zynga's "FarmVille," which has 32 million daily players, has helped to drive even greater demand for the social-gaming category, according to participants at the recent 2010 Game Developers Conference. Social gaming has increased from $600 million sales in 2008 to a projected $1.6 billion this year, and could surpass the $4 billion mark in 2013, said Michael Pachter, video game analyst for Wedbush Morgan Securities.
