Montreal teachers want more special-education resources

Teachers unions in Montreal are demanding more special-education resources as they renegotiate their contract, which expires Wednesday. Teachers are asking for, among other things, continued funding for resource teachers and other professionals and a 10% cap on the amount of students with special needs in inclusive classes. Additional services for students with special needs were among the integral issues during contract talks in 2005.
