Rare CMBS hotel loan goes on the market

CW Capital has placed the defaulted $12.75 million CMBS loan for the Ramada Plaza Hotel in San Diego on the market. Analysts say the move is surprising because the loan for the 182-room hotel originated in 1998, well before the more recent troubled-loan trend, and it might represent the first CMBS hotel loan in California that is being publicly marketed.
