Young cancer patients are often unaware of clinical trial involvement

A small study in Pediatrics found 51% of pediatric cancer patients did not remember being told they were part of a clinical research trial, and 86% did not understand what their physicians said to them regarding the trial. The researchers urged better communication to encourage shared decision-making and informed consent.
