Community, freight collaboration needed to grow So. Calif. ports

For ports in southern California to grow their Asian business market, it's essential to expand "what is already the nation’s largest network of on-dock rail yards;" build BNSF's Southern California International Gateway; and expand Union Pacific's Intermodal Container Transfer Facility, according to consultants. It's also essential to get buy-in from local communities, they say, pointing to the success of the ports' "clean-truck program."
