The House of Representatives voted against a version of President Barack Obama's $3.6 trillion 2013 budget by a vote of 414-0, an essentially meaningless vote that was a tactical move by both Republicans and Democrats. It then voted in favor of a Republican 2013 budget plan -- 228-191 -- that seeks to reduce the federal deficit through cuts in spending, reduced taxes and restructuring Medicare and Medicaid. No Democrats voted in favor of the budget. The measure is expected to face opposition from Democratic members of the Senate and President Barack Obama, and may not become a law.
