United adopts Continental program that bans 9 breeds of dogs

As part of its merger with Continental Airlines, United Airlines has banned nine breeds of dogs from its planes. The merged carrier adopted Continental's PetSafe Program for pet transport, which had the ban in place. "The PetSafe Program has more resources in place: a 24-hour dedicated desk, transportation for the animals," said Mary Ryan, spokeswoman for United.
