Pen-pal program builds more than writing skills for Ohio students

Students from a Youngstown, Ohio, elementary school have been working on their writing and social skills while corresponding with college students in a pen-pal program. Students share their daily lives and hobbies as they write in notebooks exchanged every other week with Youngstown State University students, who recently met their young pen pals. Teacher Kelly Swiger said the younger students are motivated by the excitement of seeing what their pen pals have written in the notebooks.
