Nearly half of the 64% of American adults who have Facebook accounts use the social network to follow news, accounting for about 30% of the U.S. adult population, according to a Pew Research Center report. Just 10% said the same about YouTube, and only 8% said so about Twitter. The report found that 50% of social network users share news-related content and 46% discuss current events on social networks.
