Arabic to overtake English as No. 2 language in Quebec French schools

As early as next year, Arabic could be the most common language after French in Quebec's French-language schools, thanks to education policies and immigration rules that have favored applicants from francophone countries in Africa. While the number of students whose primary language is English grew by 8% over the last five years, pupils whose mother tongue is Arabic soared by more than 42% during the same period.
