FDA, EU consider joint inspection program for device makers

The FDA and the European Union are in talks over a pilot program involving a third-party auditor who will conduct quality-system audits on behalf of both bodies. The FDA expects the program to cut expenses for device companies. A similar initiative between the FDA and Health Canada is already under way.
