Shares across Asia were mixed today, with car stocks in South Korea and Japan recovering a bit. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 rose 0.9%, after plunging 4.5% on Monday, as pension funds bought shares at the end of their fiscal year. South Korea's Kospi gained 2%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index and Taiwan's Taiex each gained 1.2%. China's Shanghai Composite fell 1.8%, New Zealand's NZX-50 lost 1.3% and Singapore's Straits Times inched up 0.2%.
