Medical home concept considered from patient perspective

The National Partnership for Women & Families has worked with more than 20 other groups to develop a set of nine principles for establishing a medical home model from a consumer -- rather than a physician -- perspective. The group is giving the plan to state and federal lawmakers as a guide for health reform. The recommendations call for patient-centered medical homes to coordinate health care services across care settings and to help patients with insurance eligibility, coverage and appeals.
