Service aims to help hospitals meet provisions in HITECH Act

Perot Systems is introducing a service designed to assist hospitals and other health care providers comply with rules for the "meaningful use" of electronic medical records included in the HITECH Act. HITECH, which is included in the economic-stimulus law, aims to promote EMR adoption as early as 2014 by allocating incentives worth about $23 billion that can be obtained via Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements.
