Analysis: U.S. might formally accuse China of currency manipulation

There is speculation that the U.S. Treasury Department will say in a report due April 15 that China has manipulated the value of the yuan to gain an advantage in international trade, according to The Economist. "A popular view in Washington is that the Treasury could call China a manipulator to wrest control of the issue from hotheads in Congress," The Economist notes.
