Cat retirees suffer blow with class action lawsuits

A federal judge ruled that only a portion of Caterpillar retirees and surviving spouses are entitled to health insurance without premiums -- but with ancillary charges -- in their class action lawsuits against the company. The judge ruled that certain retirees are not eligible for free health care for life, even though Caterpillar had provided that for retirees before 1988.
