CMS tells contractors to delay provider payments

The CMS has advised its contractors to hold reimbursements for services covered by the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule system for the first 10 business days of the month in a move to delay the 21.2% reimbursement cuts set to take effect today. CMS believes Congress is working to avert the cuts.
