FTC mortgage-relief rule could affect attorneys, warns ABA

The American Bar Association is calling for the Federal Trade Commission to rethink proposed mortgage-relief rules, which the ABA says would effectively give the federal government oversight powers regarding certain legal services. The rules would take away state courts' ability to regulate lawyers and would affect attorney-client privilege, the ABA argues.
