Judge clears way for Marriott to build D.C. Marquis

Marriott International is set to build a new Washington, D.C., Marquis hotel in front of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center after a superior court judge dismissed a lawsuit that attempted to block the $537 million project. Wardman Investor had charged the city with favoritism in the bidding process. The judge ruled that the City Council had the right to waive procurement laws.
