Pittsburgh approves green roof for new county office building

The Pittsburgh Planning Commission approved Allegheny County's plans for a green roof on top of the county's office building. The 8,500-square-foot green roof will be installed with almost $613,000 in grants from the U.S. Department of Energy. The green roof will include monitoring stations that will transmit energy-efficiency data.
