Researchers say mixing insulins isn't a good idea

Researchers said mixing lispro with glargine insulin may reduce injections needed by children with Type 1 diabetes but it also flattens lispro's early pharmacodynamic peak. They said they don't recommend mixing the insulins because it causes a major delay in lispro action that could result in high or low blood sugar levels.
