Sen. Corker says he "absolutely cannot support" reform bill as is

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., said changes needed to be made to legislation written by Senate Democrats to overhaul the financial-regulatory system for him to get behind it. "I couldn't support the bill in its current form," Mr. Corker said. "I am absolutely not throwing in the towel. I have no plans to support the current legislation. I hope we'll get back to the negotiating table." White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said officials "are not going to compromise on what we believe represents a very strong piece of legislation."
