KFC to open 40 new restaurants in UK, Ireland

Yum! Brands-owned chicken chain KFC plans to spend £40 million this year on an expansion plan that will add 40 new units and 1,600 jobs in the UK and Ireland. The chain, which opened its first eatery in Britain in 1965, will end the year with nearly 900 UK stores.
