Congress passes SGR patch, ICD-10 delay

The Senate on Monday voted 64-35 in favor of a bill that would delay for another year a 24% cut in Medicare physician reimbursement rates. The decision marks the 17th time Congress has opted for a temporary patch instead of creating a permanent fix to the sustainable growth rate formula. The bill also moves the ICD-10 implementation deadline to Oct. 1, 2015.
