Russia, U.S. Sign Agreement On Lifting Poultry Ban

Russia yesterday agreed to lift the ban on U.S. poultry imports, ironing out a trade dispute that has marred bilateral economic relations, says the U.S. ambassador to Russia. The U.S. has agreed to implement tougher restrictions on veterinary documents and measures against firms that export salmonella-tainted chicken. The ban was imposed over concerns of sanitary conditions in U.S. plants and the use of antibiotics and feed additives in American poultry.
