USDA To Review Clinton-Era Policy On Meat Recall Process

Two years after the Clinton administration called for publicizing every meat and poultry products recall, there is little evidence that recalls have been reduced, a report says. The USDA is reviewing how to effectively communicate recalls to consumers and food retailers. According to records obtained by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, the recovery rate of recalled products has been dropping since 1998.
